Emily Cardwell

Emily is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as a Registered Psychotherapist through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Emily has a deep commitment to supporting individuals and couples on their journey to wellness and empowerment. Her passion for mental health and well-being was ignited through 12 years of work in community services, including roles with Kids Help Phone and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.

Emily offers services to individuals and couples of all backgrounds, gender identities, and lifestyles, helping clients navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship dynamics, communication, and burnout. She has a particular passion for relationship health—whether in partnerships, family, friendships, or professional settings—and is dedicated to promoting men’s mental health as well.

Taking a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, Emily draws from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and other therapeutic styles to create a tailored approach that feels safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative, supporting clients in addressing their unique goals and concerns.

Outside of counselling, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and reading a good book.
