New Tide’s adult ADHD assessment includes clinical interviews and standardized assessment tools to evaluate whether your experiences meet diagnostic criteria for ADHD and consider other possible explanations. Testing takes place at our Miramichi office, with your initial consultation and feedback session available by phone or video for convenience.
What Is an Adult ADHD Assessment?
ADHD assessment for adults is a structured clinical evaluation that explores attention, impulsivity, activity levels, and related difficulties in everyday life. It draws on clinical interviews, developmental history, standardized rating scales, and other relevant information to assess whether ADHD or other factors may explain your concerns. You may also see it called an adult ADHD evaluation or adult ADHD testing. Here’s how to know if it’s worth exploring, and who it’s for.
Sings & Who This Assessment May Be For
You don’t need to check every box to wonder if this fits. Common reasons New Brunswick adults reach out include:
- Trouble finishing tasks that matter to you, even when you’re motivated.
- Losing track of time so often that “time blindness” feels literal.
- A disorganized system you’ve rebuilt more times than you can count.
- Big emotional reactions that feel disproportionate, followed by guilt.
- Starting strong at work or school, then burning out.
- Relationships strained by forgetfulness or feeling “checked out”.
- A childhood full of “smart but not living up to potential” report cards.
- Working twice as hard as everyone around you just to keep up
This assessment is for adults in New Brunswick who want to explore whether ADHD may explain difficulties in their daily lives, whether you suspect it was missed in childhood, have only recently recognized these patterns, or have never been assessed. Some clients are experiencing academic, work, relationship, or financial difficulties; others appear to be managing well but find the effort exhausting. These experiences can have several explanations, which are considered during the assessment.
You don’t need a diagnosis to deserve answers; just a willingness to ask the question.
